I work at Sony Pictures by day, and a photographer and blogger by night.
My blog - Hey Yeh, is my little corner of the internet to share and inspire others with comfy style, interior design, and lifestyle photography.
"She teaches us to be humble and always be grateful of what we have and where we are today."
My mom is one of my best friends, my mentor, and my inspiration. She raised us three sisters to be strong, unique, selfless and loving women. She teaches us to have integrity, and never be afraid to take risks and to fail forward. She teaches us to be humble and always be grateful of what we have and where we are today. When we get knocked down, she stands you right back up. She shows us how to be a wonderful wife, a daughter-in-law, a mother, a sister and a boss.
My mom started an education company, teaching kids of all ages to find their own voice and skillsets to accelerate in school and in life. She was hoping to retire last year, but instead started another education company to expand her summer camps to reach more children across Asia. And the sole reason is because she is inspired and driven by the parents who sincerely thank her for changing their children for the better. I am always touched and driven by her and her selflessness – spreading her love not just to our family but to build and empower the next generation. Without her, I would not be standing where I am today, and I am so proud and grateful to have her as a mother.
ONE SPECIAL MEMORY
HEART TO HEART
"I reminded her that this presentation is time for her to share her own story."
My mom and I always have so much to talk about. One night, she was prepping for a presentation, where she was asked to share about her own life experience. She was asking me what I thought about the topic of love languages. She wanted to share her knowledge on love languages to help others understand their relationships with their husbands, girlfriends, parents and children.
Though I thought it was a good idea, I reminded her that this presentation is time for her to share her own story. This moment together always reminds me of how amazing and full of heart she is that she is constantly wanting to share her knowledge to better other people’s lives. Her passion is to help others, and I admire her so much for her strength and ability to always put others before herself.
MORE ABOUT COURTNEY
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and now based in Los Angeles. I’ve lived here for 6 years, and the rest of my family still reside in Hong Kong. I moved to LA because I wanted to be closer to arts and entertainment, but being so far away from home is still really hard since my family and I are really close. So my blog - Hey Yeh, started in college as a place for me to share what I was doing with my family and friends back home and around the world. I started getting more traction from a wider circle, so I invited my sisters to join me in sharing what we were all up to while we were living oceans apart. Hey Yeh is our little corner of the internet to share and inspire others with our lifestyle, including our comfy style, favorite interior design, travels and photography.
